Carolyn is a Senior Product Manager at Amazon, developing new products to enable customers to reorder their everyday essentials. She also worked on Amazon Inspire, an online marketplace for K-12 teachers to exchange digital instructional resources. Outside of Amazon, Carolyn is a founding board member for Cascade Public Schools, a charter school opening in fall 2020 in South King County.
Previously she was a Consultant at Bellwether Education Partners, a national nonprofit helping K-12 education organizations become more effective in their work. Carolyn supported past clients—including charter schools—on strategic planning, grant writing, and financial forecasting. Carolyn also worked at Mathematica Policy Research where she measured the effectiveness of education policies using impact evaluations and data analytics. She began her career teaching English and TOEFL in Venezuela as a Fulbright Fellow.
Carolyn holds an M.B.A. from the UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business and a B.A. from Brown University. She grew up in Houston, where her experience attending public schools motivated her support for new school models, to ensure that all children find joy in learning and are given the opportunity to thrive academically and in life.
